CONSUMER ADVISORY COUNCIL OF THE FEDERAL CONSUMER PROCURACY

Dear clients and friends:

In recent days, the Federal Consumer Protection Procuracy reported that the following people have been appointed as new members of the Consumer Advisory Council:

- Margarita Beatriz Luna Ramos, Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation

- Virginia Sendel de Lemaitre, journalist and President of the Michou y Mau Foundation, I.A.P.

- Fernando Lerdo de Tejada, consultant and former head of Profeco.

- Bernardo Altamirano Rodríguez, former Federal Consumer Attorney and current President of the non-profit organization Better Business Bureau.

The Consumer Consultative Council is an interdisciplinary body that guides the actions of the Procuracy. Its purpose is to analyze various consumer issues, promote citizen participation, knowledge and exercise of their rights, and propose programs and public actions related to the Procuracy’s powers.

In addition, during this session the need to maintain policies of protection and sustainable consumption was established with the objective of contributing to the fulfillment of the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals. These goals consist of promoting an efficient use of resources, energy and infrastructure to facilitate access to basic services and ecological jobs, which will contribute to a better quality of life.
